How shall I charge my new Macbook Air M2 ?

I got a new Macbook Air M2 and I am just concerned about how to charge it properly. I know I shouldn't discharge it less than 20% but I wanted to understand if someone is following some sort of rules which helped them to keep their battery health good for long life.

I will really appreciate your help and answers over here.

MacBook Air, macOS 15.0

Yes. Your Mac will manage it's battery health, if you leave the default option on (System Settings > Battery > click the i next to Battery Health and the options should be on).

When you use your Mac plugged in most of the time, it will pause charging at 80% to maintain optimal battery health.

The MacOS manages the power/charging system very well. You should plug in the computer whenever convenient to do so. Leaving the computer plugged in will not damage the computer or the battery. There is no need for you to try to micro mange the system.

Yes. If you were to read When to charge your iPhone or iPad - Apple Community, it answers that question and more. I strongly recommend reading it.

I believe Lawrence Finch is an engineer. I know I am. I wouldn't recommend his User Tip if I didn't agree with it. If I were to improve upon it, I'd change the title to "When to charge your iPhone or iPad or iPod or Apple Watch or Apple TV remote or Vision Pro or Magic Trackpad... " etc but the title soon becomes unwieldy. Besides, whereas we can edit User Tips, their titles cannot be changed.

neuroanatomist's reply is 100% correct, but lots of people have difficulty accepting the fact it's that simple. Yes it's that simple. Plug it in when you want to. Don't if you don't. A lot of words saying the same things.
