I’m trying to open my old Mac (Mac OS X) from around the years 2007-2011. I haven’t used it for a decade and I forgot my password. I have no chance to remember it.
Is my only chance to restart it from stratch..?

The model year as well as the Mac OS X version matters. If you can use Internet Recovery, try that. It is not available for Macs older than 2010 or so.
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support
If you are unable to use OS X Internet Recovery, then you will require that Mac's original, grey, System Install DVD.
