what's causing my macbook cursor to move erratically?

Recently my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) cursor has been acting strange. The cursor randomly moves around very erratically, and the only fix I've found is to close and reopen the lid, sometimes multiple times before the issue gets resolved.

Super annoying issue, especially when the cursor goes back to normal after closing and reopening my lid 6 times.

I also cant seem to find any resources on this issue so im hoping someone has some more insight,

thanks

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

Look for any external sign of seam separation or not sitting flat on the table top.

This could well be a swelling battery, this can impinge upon the trackpad from below...

this would be an issue. unplug from power and get it serviced.
