Without Owner Password I Cannot Save This Document

I’m trying to fill out an i9 form for my new job but it won’t let me because it says I need a password. I’ve tried downloading it from other places like the literal government site for it but it still says the same thing. When on my laptop (not an apple product) it works fine. What am I supposed to do here? I’ve never had this problem before.

Without knowing what app you're trying to use I can only guess, but my guess is that it's trying to save over the existing document which is locked to prevent anyone from altering the base text. See if the app you're using has a "save as" option and if so try that, giving the document a new name.

Otherwise, please provide more details and someone may have additional suggestions.
