nfc not working on iphone 16 pro max

Just upgraded from 14 pro max to 16 pro max. I normally top up my transit card using an app which uses NFC. On 16 pro max, the phones NFC it cannot read my card at all where my 14 pro max has no issues. Please help. Thanks.

NFC not working for Apple Pay on iPhone XS with iOS 18.3.1 Hello, I’m having an issue using Apple Pay for payments. When I try to make a payment, the payment terminal doesn’t respond, and I believe the problem might be related to the NFC functionality on my device. I’ve already tried the following steps to resolve the issue: 1. I made sure Apple Pay is enabled and my card is supported. 2. I restarted my device. 3. I checked that my device is running the latest version of iOS. 4. I removed the card and re-added it to Apple Pay. 5. I tried paying at different terminals, but the issue persists. When I bring my phone close to the payment terminal, there’s no interaction, and I don’t see any messages on the screen indicating that the payment is being processed. NFC stopped working (Apple Pay does work) on Iphone 13 after update to iOS 17.3.1 On my Iphone 13, NFC stopped working for reading Yubikey or other NFC tags like the NFC in AirTags, but Apple Pay continues to work. I belief the issue started after updating to iOS 17.3.1. Thanks
