Incoming calls not ringing through.

Incoming calls not ringing through. it seems people have had this issue in the past, I am experiencing it within the last few months. Is this a bug that Apple has not fixed yet? I will be physically on my phone, and the call not only has not rung through, THEY DONT EVEN SHOW UP ON RECENTS. Although it does ding when the person leaves a voicemail. I’ve missed important calls because of this. And of course then when I call back they don’t answer because they’re busy also! It’s very very frustrating. I have tried all the possible fixes, and I do not have any of the unknown numbers blocked or anything like that. It happens with saved contacts!

I have tried a full shut down of my phone, and that has not seemed to help!

Voicemail is a carrier service. It's not part of your iPhone. So calls can go to voicemail that never reach your phone. I had the same thing happen regularly to me, I wouldn't get a call through but would get notified that I had a voicemail. This happened even though I would show a bar or two in the cell strenght. It was confirmed that it was a problem with poor carrier signal in my area. I also rarely had problems calling out; it was just incoming calls.

I would again advise talking with your cell carrier. It may be an account issue, or you may just be in a "cell shadow" that's affecting reception in your location.

Regards.

No, I meant *#61# (and a couple of other ones after it like 61, 62, 67, 21, etc.).

The resulting screen looks something like this

It's meant to check if your calls are being forwarded under certain conditions, and provides more information and in an easier way than going to your Phone app settings.

However while most carriers use the same code, not all do. In particular Verizon uses or used to use different codes because their network wasn't GSM. Xfinity runs on Verizon's network I believe so perhaps Verizion's version of this code might work: **61*.

I've found an article that explains these and while it's a bit dated there might be some codes that would work for you: https://ios.gadgethacks.com/how-to/dial-these-secret-codes-see-if-someone-is-hijacking-calls-texts-your-iphone-0384432/

My thought process being that if it's not due poor cell coverage, perhaps one of them shows "Enabled" indicating that somehow your call's get forwarded to voicemail directly or under specific circumstances. This shouldn't happen if you didn't make any changes, but accidents and glitches happen from time to time so it can't hurt to check.

If they're not even showing up in Recents, then the calls are never reaching your iPhone. This could be due to a number of factors, but most often is due to poor cell service in your location or a cell tower that is unable to handle the load put on it from time to time. This is an issue you'll need to take up with your carrier, though whether they'll be able to advise anything other than to get a cell signal booster I don't know.

Thank you providing some more information.

It seems Xfinity might not support these codes.

Seeing that the issue seems intermittent without a clear pattern emerging I think your best bet is to contact your carrier’s customer support.

They should at least be able to see which calls didn’t make it through and if there’s anything on your line that might be causing it.

Additionally they should also be able to troubleshoot the issue with you as it doesn’t seem to be a problem with your iPhone but rather with the network.

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be of help more.

I tried all of those codes. Every time I get the voice message "we're unable to complete your call. To speak to a customer representative dial *611."

The problem is, it's completely random as to whether or not a call from a contact gets through. Many times it happens when my mom calls, and it won't ring through so she leaves a voicemail. But it has happened with other listed contacts that are sometimes able to get through and sometimes not. Note, the top pic is voicemails that had come in recently, and the bottom pic is recents. There are no incoming calls in 'recents' since Wednesday.

I have no idea how many calls that actually came in if they didn't leave a voicemail! Since many people do not leave voicemails anymore. They just assume that you will see their missed call, and call back!
