I am not receiving push notifications on my iPhone after iOS 18 update

After the iOS 18 update I no longer receive push notifications on my Lock Screen. I have to open the apps to see that I receive a message hours ago and never received the notification. iPhone 13 Pro

The only thing that worked for me was resetting all settings. Settings app > “General” > “Transfer or reset iphone” > “Reset” > choose “Reset all settings” from the popup menu.

It’s annoying that it requires a blanket fix like that, but it’s way less frustrating than the notification problems. The most intense implications of resetting your settings, in my experience, was that every app acts somewhat like a newly installed app when you open it again after resetting – it’ll keep your “in app” settings (so any settings you’ve managed from the app itself isn’t reset) and data (it doesn’t wipe your app clean), but any settings in the literal iPhone Settings app will be set back to default values. This means you have to allow camera and mic access, access to photo library, access to your location data, etc. I found it a nice way to kind of overhaul my privacy settings everywhere, silver lining.

please note that it will also delete your saved Wifi passwords, unless you have them saved in the passwords app like your network is a website (the passwords app is safe from the reset).

I had the same issue with native Mail app not notifying on lock screen, had 3 advisors 2 at Senior team level to diagnose the issue and not working. I dont use icloud email but the yahoo gmail and POP mails.

I have tried force restarting, deleting and reinstall Mail app and even reset iphone to a new iphone and downloading all apps from icloud! Doesnt wotk! I can get lock screen notifications from other apps even the third party apps but not from the native Mail app.

Its annoying when you hace to login to see the mails.

I think it is a bug with the iOS and when i checked my wife's iphone seems it is also affecting her iphone.

I actually scheduled a visit to  store and to get the technician to check my iphone probably the software or configurations etc. Not sure if they can get it done.

Not sure if they can make things work.

itz0xy - NO! Do not follow these steps! Unnecessarily resetting all of your settings, especially WiFi passwords setting, etc., is useless since these steps do not resolve the issues with notifications. All you’re left with is a phone that cannot connect to all of your saved WiFi networks and still does not receive any notifications. This is an Apple iOS issue!! And apple needs to get off their seats and get it in gear to fix this!

I believe the issue has had to do with either of two things: 1. Android to Mac messages, or 2. Android/ web-based messages that are related to things like 2FA codes and similar. Even after 18.2, this aspect still doesn't seem to properly work. I do not get notified for these on my Messages app with a red mark and a banner also does not appear. It may even be related to particular websites. Sometimes I get the notification and sometimes I don't.

18.2.1. seem to have fixed the Android to Mac issue.

I am also having the same issue with notifications not appearing on locked screen. I only know that I have a notification because the notification is sent to my iwatch. I spent 1 1/2 hrs in the Apple store yesterday trying to sort the issue and the only way to seemed to fix it (only until this morning) was the unpair and then repair my iwatch. I don't like having to constantly pick up my phone to look but I missed so many important messages because I didn't realise it was happening.

Is there a way to roll back to the previous IOS version?

I can concur with the notifications issue as still being persistent, but it now more annoying with the new iOS 18.4 update installed. With 18.3 push notifications would reach the phone, but the screen would remain off, with only an audible chime sound, or a notification bar would appear on the screen when the screen is powered on manually, but would be a blank bar or multiple blank bars. Now with 18.4, the iPhone 15P does not even turn on the screen or has any chime sounds, no notifications awareness of any type. Reset notifications sounds to difference sounds, same issue, no improvement. Completely unreliable phone, Awful QA from Apple on this latest iOS update.

I couldn’t agree more with you. For those who rely on notifications such as for medical purposes, as well as those who rely on them for everyday tasks.

Their support doesn’t warrant the heavy price tag of their products, you’d think they would be able to resolve an issue such as this.

Come on Apple!!.. it’s unacceptable to expect people to pay for a product that doesn’t function as intended.

Good point made. I’m having the same issue with my iPhone 14 Pro after upgrading to iOS 18.1. I thought I had left the iPhone in “Do Not Disturb” or I “silenced” the iPhone. To add a bit of mud to the issue, the alerts for messaging are not being sent to my Apple Watch 7 which I rely on while out in the field and lugging my photography gear.

Just updated to 18.1.1.

issue remains. The only app that works is my Eufy security app

no messaging apps work, the ones you can reinstall I have to no avail.

If my phone is unlocked and the screen is active they do work which defeats the object.

I also have an Apple Watch and this is compounded/linked as that has an issue with no haptics working since upgrading.
