I am not receiving push notifications on my iPhone after iOS 18 update

After the iOS 18 update I no longer receive push notifications on my Lock Screen. I have to open the apps to see that I receive a message hours ago and never received the notification. iPhone 13 Pro

The only thing that worked for me was resetting all settings. Settings app > “General” > “Transfer or reset iphone” > “Reset” > choose “Reset all settings” from the popup menu.

It’s annoying that it requires a blanket fix like that, but it’s way less frustrating than the notification problems. The most intense implications of resetting your settings, in my experience, was that every app acts somewhat like a newly installed app when you open it again after resetting – it’ll keep your “in app” settings (so any settings you’ve managed from the app itself isn’t reset) and data (it doesn’t wipe your app clean), but any settings in the literal iPhone Settings app will be set back to default values. This means you have to allow camera and mic access, access to photo library, access to your location data, etc. I found it a nice way to kind of overhaul my privacy settings everywhere, silver lining.

please note that it will also delete your saved Wifi passwords, unless you have them saved in the passwords app like your network is a website (the passwords app is safe from the reset).

For me it’s the sounds that don’t always play when I receive messages or voicemails that come through when my phone is locked and I have a 14 pro max. A lot of weird things started to happen after iOS 18 like my phone would show a loading screen then go to my locked screen. I’m wondering if any other users with the newest phone are having issues.

I can see that this issue has been going on for a few weeks now. I installed IOS18.2 yesterday in anticipation that it would deal with the issue.. but no, sadly not.

I have reinstalled the Ring app (twice), I also turned the phone off completely and each of these actions worked for about 5 minutes then reverted to the bug issue of no sound notifications at all. I am missing Whatsapp messages and Ring doorbell notifications when my phone is locked, if unlocked it pings! What’s the point in that, ping is needed when the phone is not in your hands!

COME ON APPLE - PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!!

Apple: please consider this request! At least allow your users to reinstall older (or at least one previous) versions of iOS. In the event you rush out an update prematurely (as you people almost always do), allow your customers to revert back to the software that worked, and kick your useless update back to the drawing board for you to try again! You know, like your elementary school teacher use to hand you back your homework, bleeding red ink, for you to fix?!

All this tracking of us you do is not worth the trouble! Seriously considering either leaving the phone at home, like an old landline, or switching to setting up a grapheneos android phone, ditching all but the necessary apps, and earning back some privacy.

I will thank you either way; in the event you fix this notifications issue, or you push me to revamping my entire situation as a consumer! I’m definitely pushing for the latter, to be quite honest.

These recent updates are having me seriously question my relationship with Apple.

problems I had with since iOS 18 started;

  • The notification issue
  • first update was killing my battery, seems like 18.2 did fix this.
  • would not allow me to fully sign in to Apple for 3 days. Supports couldn’t fix other than suggestion a factory reset.
  • do not disturb has got a life of its own and will not turn off. I had to totally disable it. Now I have to manually sign out of teams at night

Since I updated my iPhone to iOS 18.2 I do not receive PUSH notifications anymore. This issue is ssssooo annoying that I think to switch to another brand and I’m using Apple products the last 15 years.

Big company who wants to sell a product for over 1K and cannot fix such a problem in 3 weeks!

I need my iPhone for work! Already got in trouble with my manager!

New iPhone 16 - After 18.2, push notifications no longer wake up my Home Screen, vibrate, or chime (if sounds are on). I'm missing all push notifications now unless I feel them on my watch. Turned sound on my watch in the meantime to try and help me feel push alerts. This affects everything, most importantly Message, Ring App, and others. Very disappointing.
