Need to get location for stolen MacBook Air, Find My is turned on, it's marked lost and locked two hours ago, I got a msg stating lock was activated but no location?! What to do?

Need to get location for stolen MacBook Air, Find My is turned on, it's marked lost and locked two hours ago, I got a msg stating lock was activated but no location?! What to do? I am a poor artist and just bought it 2wks ago, and all my recordings are on the laptop.... IS THERE ANYONE WIO CAN HELP ME LOCATE THIS COMPUTER??? Thanks, Jimmy.

Sorry but no, no one can help you locate your Mac. All anyone would know is what Find My reports to you, and if your Mac isn't turned on or can't connect to a Wi-Fi access point or be able to reach another Apple device via Bluetooth, then no location will be reported. Even if it reports a location, that location will be approximate at best and may, depending on what the location databases on the Internet think the location for the IP address may be, could be significantly inaccurate.


Report the theft to the police and keep checking Find My. If a location is eventually reported, give that information to the police. DO NOT attempt to recover the Mac yourself. People who have done so have been badly injured or even killed.
