Last weekend I bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max 512gb, and I’ve noticed that sometimes when I tap the display while it’s in Always-On mode, a few glitch lines briefly appear before disappearing. This happens randomly and not every time. So I’m concerned that the screen might be failing. What should I do about this?

I’ve had the same thing happen with mine. The update 18.0.1 did not fix the touch sensitivity issue and I noticed the exact same thing with the screen glitching. It’s truly for an instant, I see the lines and then they disappear. I think they haven’t fully resolved the software issues. I’ve had my iPhone 16 pro max since the release date.
After Update to iOS 18.1, I have noticed it’s been fixed.

I hope an update will fix this. 18.1 ios. when AOD is turned off, there is no problem
Yes, I made a backup and they gave me another phone. I have Apple Care. I'm going to wait a few more days to see if the fault appears again.
As far as I understand, the flickering happens under some special lighting. When I'm at work, the flickering happens a few times. At home, I don't notice it. I don't understand what's wrong.
The same thing is happening to mine, I don’t know if should make an appointment or if it will resolve itself on the next update. I will read the comments…
when you say special lighting, is it in low light conditions? Because that’s when it happens most of the time.
and is it when you use your phone normally or right after waking it up?
I replaced mine and the new one came with the same problem. I hope they fix it with an iOS update.

For me the problem happens when I'm at work, under fluorescent lighting.

After disabling always on display the issue went away
Exactly, we dont even expect if apple will fix that issue or not
It looks like the flickering occurs only with the default iPhone 16 wallpaper. After changing the wallpaper to some static image I don‘t have the flickering any more.
Hm, ne, wallpaper didn‘t resolve the glitch :(
