144 Hz option not available on external monitor

Hi, I recently bought an 2k 144 Hz external monitor for my 2021 M1 MacBook Air but there is no option for me to change to refresh rate to 144 Hz. I am using an HDMI 2.0 to USB-C cable

Not all USB-C cables are capable of carrying sufficient bandwidth for higher refresh rates and/or higher resolutions.
