When I keep my macbook pro idle for a while, green bars start blocking the touchbar

Initially, I noticed after the latest update, the touchbar would stop responding and then green bars would appear on the touchbar. After restarting, it would make the entire bar invisible. Then after a while, it started to work but whenever the mac is idle for a while, it pops up again.

I've already tried restarting/shutting off/putting to safe mode/and killing the TouchBarServer using terminal

what now?
