iPhone 16 Pro Max's screen is flickering

Screen partially flash vertical lines when the phone is picked up or unlocked. I was wondering if anyone else’s screen was flickering with white lines on the screen randomly.

I have tried to see if there’s any way to trigger it but it seems to happen at random.

There is not a fix. Mine still having the same issue. It is random and cannot be triggered by a person. I thought it was a software issue. But it has to be hardware. I would use your 1 year factory warranty to get a new one and see that fixes that it. I know it is not software because 18.3.2 should have fixed this. And Apple thinks I am crazy. But there is a lot of people having this.

I own an iPhone 16 Pro Max. I was previously using a physical SIM card without any issues. However, after switching to an eSIM, I began noticing horizontal/vertical lines appearing on the screen intermittently.

Yesterday, I visited my carrier's store and requested to switch back to a physical SIM card. Since doing so, the problem has not occurred again.

This suggests there may be a software or hardware-related issue triggered by the eSIM configuration. I wanted to report this behavior for investigation, as it may be relevant for diagnostics or future updates.

I also have the same issue. So far the only way it’s stopped is turning off the 5g band as another user had suggested. I haven’t had any issues since then. But as after a while on 5g either auto or on it flickers. I haven’t tried the always on or anything like that. Currently on iOS 18.4. I suspect this is hardware based with the 5g modem and screen not having proper shielding. I’d recommend WiFi where you can and 4g where WiFi isn’t available. I’m thinking something in the latest couple of updates changed the power output to the 5g modem causing it to generate interference with the display so it’s possible that apple could step it back. I wouldn’t count on that though based on the number of complaints and since it’s not something their built in diagnostics are registering someone at a higher level (c level) is going to have to have the issue consistently where the can observe it and reproduce it to make any type of correction.

I have tried the Boot Loop but unfortunately the issue is still there. Would you pleas suggest if i should wait for the IOS 18.1 (update) or i should go for the AASP?”

Taking this to an AASP:

I recommend taking this to an AASP; the more this occurs, the more issues that may come about.

Updating Using a Computer:

You can update using a computer, rather than through the iPhone itself. Thing is, you’ll have to tap a few things on the iPhone itself (such as to accept Terms & Conditions), which doesn’t seems to be an option. See my User Tip to learn more: Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip

Same issue. I went to Apple, the tech guy checked but nothing wrong with the phone itself, could be the swoftware issues, I got the replacements but still having the same flickering. Checked many platforms noticed that this is common problem for everyone who's taking iphone 16promax........now updating to iOS 18.2, it didnt mention about fixing this flickering problem, but let's hope they fix this.......
