After ios 18 update, call forwarding will not work. I go to call forwarding, turn it ok, set my work number to be forwarded to. Then i can go back to it even 30 seconds later and it is turned off. It will not stay on call forwarding. It was working fine the day before installing ios 18. I have an iphone 12 pro.

KiltedTim is correct. Call Forwarding is a carrier supported feature. I'm on AT&T and under iOS 18 it works fine on all of my devices.
Did you try a Forced Restart after you updated to iOS 18? It's something I do after EVERY iOS update and I never have iOS related issues after updating.
Give it a try and remember the procedure for future updates, but if it doesn't help, do as KiltedTim suggests and contact T-Mobile for help --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
I took a closer look at Apple's info about Privacy and new features like Live Voicemail - they promise that the audio is being processed on your handset and not on servers.

You only have a few minutes to edit a post after you post it. No worries as I'm glad you've found that Apple isn't recording your phone calls, nor do they have access to do so. Apple is extremely committed to ensuring your data is yours and is safe.

Although it sounds foolish but it definitely has something to do with ios 18. I am experiencing issues with call forwarding as well since ios 18 update. I regularly use that feature and it worked flawlessly until ios 17 on my 15 pro max. Since updating to ios 18, it keeps processing and processing every time i try to enable or disable call forwarding. I first thought its my network that is causing this unusual delay since the feature is totally network dependent.
last week i upgraded to 16 pro max and the issue with call forwarding remains. It’s working fine on android device running same network.
