The new ios 18.1 larger emoji row is really annoying, Is there any way to get rid of it? There should at least be an option because in a ton of people’s preferences it’s too big and annoying. I want the old emoji rows back. Any help?

Hopefully you know you are not speaking to Apple here. The way to do that is by using the Feedback link that has been posted many times. Unfortunately the solution gets buried with "me too" posts from users who fail to read the responses before posting. Apple will not see your post here.

I wholeheartedly agree. This is the most infuriating update they’ve ever made to the keyboard. The emoji’s are WAY too big!

And on this occasion: Can we please blank out all the useless emojis noone is ever gonna use? I’d love to just have the categories visible that I actually use, maybe with an arrow unfolding the rest of the bunch.
That would be nice. But they won’t because emojis are popular. And people seem to want more. I wish Mr. Jobs was still around. I think they buggy updates would be less and he would have more say in the design and functionality. The lines are being blurred between iOS and Android (I own both but my daily mobile gear is all Apple always) and I don’t like that. Android is overall junk. They can keep their emojis. I don’t need more. Maybe I’m just old at 44 now but dang. I’ve used and owned Apple computers on and off since the 1980’s, even though I’m a PC guy.

no one asked for this “New Grid” of emojis either. If you’re going to make a change, allow us the option to revert it!
I've been coming to this and refreshing daily since about 30 minutes after I updated to 18.1 because the change to the emoji keyboard is ATROCIOUS! At least give us the option to keep it at 5 per column/40 per screen instead of 28. I can't even express how annoying it is to me. 🙅🏼♂️
Hate the bigger keyboard. The UI is not consistent at all. The keyboard bobs up and down all the time while switching between the keyboard and emojis because of how much bigger the emojis now are. So annoying. Fwiw, the text size I use is the smallest text size on my iPhone 15 pro.
I couldn’t agree more. If this is what Apple perceives as system update - than thanks, I’m out! Why do you force changes on users which they did not request and which they do not like and have no option to change?
Not mentioning the fact that I have not understood until now why not simply give the users option to reorder emojis by themselves and to their liking. There is a crazy algorithm instead which puts first even those emojis I use just one time, occasionally…
We need apple to hear our voices! It is infuriating and here I am thinking that apple is focusing on the user experience. So annoying and it makes me want to stop using emojis if I can help it. I rather just write the smiles like we used to before :(

There are enough accessibility features to enlarge text and keyboards. There is no need to enlarge it for everyone and don’t even give them the option to customise it or even just revert the change.

adding my 2 cents- why on god's green earth make a larger iphone........ make the fact that it is the "biggest iphone yet" a focal point of the marketing for it.......... but i'm forced to use an emoji keyboard with 4 rows? no option to change it, seriously? does this really make sense to people working at apple? i don't want soulless AI stickers mixed in with my emoji. i don't want a keyboard for 110 year olds. i wish i could be a fly on the wall to see the tech bros who've been suggesting these horrible "features".
this is the first time in over 11 years of owning iphones that i've genuinely been angry with poor quality of the operating system and updates being rolled out honestly
