The new ios 18.1 larger emoji row is really annoying, Is there any way to get rid of it? There should at least be an option because in a ton of people’s preferences it’s too big and annoying. I want the old emoji rows back. Any help?

Yes, I just sent feedback, this is seriously annoying! Yes, we can reduce font size, but then everything else is too small! 😩
I also sent feedback asking for us to have a bigger Recently Used emoji section up front, and the ability to shrink all the other emojis so we don’t have to scroll for years trying to find the ones we want!
Oh my, i thought it’s my phone problem that the emoji selection is so big and I cant google the solution when the rest of my friends still got 5 rows…. (Recently purchased a new phone and it auto updated to IOS18….)

I can’t understand how a single person at Apple thought this was a good update, let alone enough for this to be put into production with no choice. iPhone is meant to empower its user, now I’m scrolling over twice as long to find emojis - so inefficient.
It says the enormous size change is to prevent mis-clicks? Unless you're a horse, they really don't need to be quite so big, and of course now take twice as long to scroll and find 🤦🏻♂️
The format is 4 rows by 7, but its obviously ok to have a row of 10 smaller letters on the keyboard - maybe Apple will double the size of the keys in the next update...

stickers aren't the problem. Mine have been off for ages, but this is the regular emoji keyboard going from 40 on a screen to only 28. It messed up the order we were used to, and it's annoying to scroll for days to find what you're looking for. I hate it.
Why can’t we just have the option to resize them?? Clearly no one likes the 4 rows or the bigger size, but Apple will most likely ignore it. Not that hard to just let people have an option to leave they’re keyboard the same as usual.
People, this is life, sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. In this case, we all lost something, should we live our lives complaining about something we can control? Of course not, switch device if necessary, but don’t let this consume you
Bad Move to make the emojis keyboard bigger 🤯🤬 I prefer the iphone SE for it's small hand-fit, and patiently waited to update until the new smaller version had come out. On my phone with the iOS18 update, the emojis are suddenly GIGANTIC and incredibly unwieldy. It takes much longer to get the emoji I want... let alone FIND it because it is a "keyboard." This is analogous to changing the standard typing keyboard where we already know the location of the letters we want to type. It throws all texting off and makes it more time consuming, not less. Who thought this was a good idea??
ASAP!! Please bring back the smaller emoji keyboard, or make it possible to select the smaller keyboard as an option.
I hate that on this new ios 18.1 update the emojis are so big. Can you please update this. I hate using emojis now because it’s so hard to find them. I use to use emojis all the time. Please fix this. No one likes this. This was not a good idea to make the emojis bigger.

I agree 100%. The new emoji keyboard layout is way too big for my liking. It takes twice as long to find en emoji that you’re looking for and honestly it’s just not pleasing to the eye. I feel like Apple should at least give us an option to use the old layout or the new layout. Same with the photos app.
This is why it's so frustrating using Apple sometimes. I spend few years getting used to an iOS update, then Apple updates iOS again; and then I have to relearn where everything is. Especially when the some of the updates are completely unnecessary, like enlarging emojis or swapping the speaker button with the mute button... Just why? Older people must find it infuriating.
Really want the option to change it back. I had all my favorites and common used emojis on one page and it’s all messed up now and WAY too big !
