Ongoing crashes and graphical issues with M1 MacBook Air – Seeking advice
Hi everyone,
I purchased my MacBook Air with the M1 chip in January 2021. Just days after buying it, I had to replace it due to a factory defect. Now, almost a year ago, this replacement unit has started experiencing random crashes and reboots out of nowhere. I went back to the Apple Store looking for a solution, but their only suggestion was to recycle it for a small trade-in value, which is pretty disappointing.
I’ve already tried resetting it to factory settings, but the issue persists. It honestly feels like I’ve been sold another unit with a hardware defect. Unfortunately, since it's out of warranty, Apple claims it’s not a factory defect and refuses to offer a replacement or refund.
The crashes have made it impossible to work, and as you can see from the attached picture, I’m also getting random pink flickering graphical errors. I want to emphasize that this MacBook has never been dropped or mishandled in any way.
You can also take screenshots of this graphical issues:
Has anyone else encountered similar issues with their M1 MacBook Air? Any advice on how I could address this with Apple or suggestions on what else I could try? I’m incredibly frustrated, especially considering this is supposed to be a premium product.
I’d really appreciate any help!
P.S. Every time it reboots, I get panic logs like this: (log attached)
