Changing Email Password on iMac Mini 2020 without Old Password

On my IMAC MINI 2020 how to change my email password when forgot the old password?

You may need to first login to your mail provider's internet access portal and change the email password there. Once that is done then you can return to your Mail app on the mini and change the password it uses to access you email.

That will be an issue that you need to take up with your email account provider. Only they can tell you what the procedure would be.

I believe you do not understand. On my iMac mini 2020, when you go into to change the password,

it ask me for the old password, which I have lost forgotten. It will not let me change password, like most other companies, when you loose or forget your password. I have changed my password with my provider and everything is fine. I did not know, when I change with my providers password, I would have this problem changing it in my apple iMac. It that area, you have to put an old password, before you can enter the new one. Do not understand why they set this up , like that.
