iTunes download error -3253 on Windows

I purchased an album from iTunes. When I try to download it, I get the message-

"The network connection was reset."

Beside each song it says "Err= -3253

I am on a Windows computer using iTunes.

Any ideas?

Some things you can try:

Delete the Downloads folder inside your iTunes Media folder
Make sure your computer's clock is set to the correct time and time zone
Clear your default browser's cache
In iTunes use Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Reset iTunes Store Cache
Reboot your router and computer
Temporarily disable any anti-virus software or add an exclusion for the iTunes Media folder
