Why Refurbished? It's a five month old iPad Pro at $1199.

I purchased an iPad Pro, 11 inch, Wifi, 512GB, for $1199, at the end of May, 2024. On Monday, October 21, 2024, the iPad Pro display went black. I had the Genius Bar examine said iPad Pro, and it was diagnosed with a hardware failure. I was told I would receive a refurbished iPad Pro, which would be ordered. I was instructed that upon receipt of the refurbished one, I would turn in my new defective iPad Pro to Apple, and that I would only have the remaining warranty of May, 2025. I received documentation that a refurbished iPad Pro is ordered, costing $849.00. Since my iPad Pro is only five months old, I do not understand why I am getting a refurbished iPad Pro instead of a new one? I did not cause this hardware failure. I believe I should get a new iPad Pro, with a full warranty.

I have just learned that Apple has pulled the iPadOS 18 update for all M4 iPad Pro users due to bricked devices. And, I had just updated my new M4 iPad Pro. I researched this, and even on Apple Support, many were talking about this. I now feel strongly that M4 iPad Pro users should get new replacement devices, not refurbished ones. And, I have no idea when a refurbished "replacement" device will come in. So now I cannot trust Apple's iPadOS updates. I will need to reconsider Apple products in the future.
