Reseller refurbished iPhone 13: New battery/back glass?

Devices sold on the Apple refurbished site will indeed have a new battery installed. Devices sold outside the Apple refurbished store will not be refurbished by Apple, thus actual components changed will depend on the outfit doing the refurbishing.

You would have to ask alza to provide you with exact details of their refurbishment process. Chances are, alza did not refurbish the phone themselves, they purchased phones from another company.

If you decide to buy a phone from alza, you can check to see how the refurbishment process was performed as follows:

Look for the Model Number

If the Model Number starts with a "3", Apple did not refurbish the phone, but the company that did was approved by Apple.

If you buy a refurbished phone directly from Apple, you will know that Apple refurbished the phone....not another company. That is the only way that you will know that a refurbished phone was refurbished by Apple, and not another company.

Personally, if I wanted to buy a refurbished phone, I would buy from Apple, even if the price might be higher.

I would ONLY purchase a refurbished iPhone from the Apple Refurbished Store. Not only will you get an iPhone with authentic Apple parts, but you'll also get a full one year warranty from Apple on the phone. Buying from anyone else is risky at best.
