Changing SMS back to imessage

If you have an iMessage conversation and switched it to SMS (send as text) and now every time you want to send that contact a message it always sends as a text no matter what you try. It took me forever to figure out how to revert it to send iMessages to my contact again.

1) settings —> Messages —> send and receive (uncheck your phone number, a message will appear, select remove) don’t worry you will add your number back in a second, be brave lol

2) settings —> messages —> toggle off iMessage

3) turn off your phone and remove SIM and reinsert SIM, turn back on phone

4) setting —>messages —> toggle on iMessage

5) Send and Receive —> check mark your phone number

you can now send iMessages to your contact
