How do I send SMS instead of iMessage on iPhone?
When I send a message it pops up in red that it failed and says it’s an iMessage instead of sms. How do I inactivate the iMessage?

You can turn iMessage off at Settings > Messages. Then it will only use SMS for messaging. Your phone will automatically try SMS when iMessage is not available, so if the issue still exists then feel free to update what happened after turning off iMessage.
