Hello, I just visited Apple office calgary, they check my battery and they said if I need to go for battery replacement it will take 7-5 working days OR even more. I asked double just to confirm is that really 7-5 days they said YES!
So question is does it really take such amount of time? any one from apple can guide me for this. I am developer. I cant leave even a single day without that. I dont have alternative laptop too. So please guide me I am really confuse about that
From apple support / community can guide and help in this?
The act of replacing a battery may take a few minutes but perhaps the service center has a backlog of waiting repairs. Maybe they do not have the parts available and have to order them. There are many reasons why a simple repair may take 5-7 days.
Going forward, if your computer is that critical to you you should have a plan in place to handle situations such as the one in which you find yourself. Computers sometimes fail, as you discovered. I've worked in computer dependent environments for decades and in all situations we have created disaster recovery plans where we can continue working in the event of a computer loss or failure.
Such a plan for an individual does not have to incur a large expense. For example, you could store your data in a cloud service then if your computer is not available for some period of time you could continue working from a library, school computer lab, or using a loaner computer. Or, you could have data synchronized and accessible across two or more computers.
The key is to have a disaster recovery plan in place because things break.
