Why can't I find the import button on my iPhone Photos app?

Hello, on previous iterations of IOS the Photos app would have a handy little import button that would take you to view all photos on my camera that I could then import straight onto the device, I know the feature hasn't been completely removed as a rare few times i've been able to spot an import tab since the IOS 18 update, but it's not consistent at all. Anyone know any way of getting this feature to work as I paid for an official apple product to import photos for the feature to be now defunct

I just plugged a memory card using the adapter and it showed up on the main screen as a device:

I clicked on the card and it then pulled up the preview images with an "Import All" and "Select" buttons:

I'd expect plugging a camera in directly would do the same if the camera is on and maybe in a "sharing" mode (my OM System OM-5 has to be in "PC" mode to connect directly to a computer/device to import images)
