Model number on my iPhone box is different from the one in my settings

I've recently purchased a new iPhone and I've found that the model number in the settings is different than the model number written on the iPhone box, is it ok?

Note: The serial number, the IMEI, and the color written on the box are the same as the settings

iPhone 13 Pro

We need a bit more to work with.

—Is this the iPhone 13 Pro shown in your equipment profile or another model. As Apple no longer sells the 13 as "new, did yo get this through a carrier?

—What model number does the box show and what does Settings show? Please do not post any serial or IMEI numbers.

"Model number" seems a loose term with Apple. Some call the "A" number the model number (A2483, etc), yet Settings shows what has been called the "order number" as the model (ex MHGE3LL/A). The order number's first letter can give you an idea of the history of the device:

  • If the model number starts with M, it was purchased new from Apple.
  • If the model number starts with F, it was refurbished by Apple or a carrier.
  • If the model number starts with P, it was sold as a personalized device with Apple engraving.
  • If the model number starts with N, Apple provided it as a replacement device for a device device returned for service.

• Settings Model number: MNDE3LL/A => A2483
• Box Model number: MLVP3AA/A => A2638

The model number of the phone (A2438) is that of the iPhone 13 Pro made for the United States. But the model number on the box (A2638) is that of the iPhone 13 Pro made for "UK, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia".

If you're in the US, it sounds like the seller sent you the correct phone, but shipped it to you in a box for the other model for some reason.

I'm not in the US, the seller told me it is renewed.
I don't know exactly what he means by renewed, what I'm aware of is that if an iPhone is renewed the model number won't start with "M" and mine starts with "M"
Do you have any idea of how it is renewed but with no change in the model number?

It's "used". It was not refurbished by Apple or an authorized partner. It has no warranty. If any parts were replaced during whatever passes for a 'renewal' process, the phone is completely untouchable by Apple.
