MacBook Pro M2 (16-inch, 2023) Will no longer charge with my Mag Safe 3 Adapter

MacBook Pro M2 (16-inch, 2023) Will no longer charge with my Mag Safe 3 Adapter.

I originally bought this for school but now use it for side business and never had any issues with it before but now it will no longer charge with the Mag Safe 3 Adapter cable but I found the articale from Jo2n and I had a USB to USBC Cable and that is now working to charge my system.

I have no idea why it stopped woring and the closest store is 2 hours away which is insane.

I was going to just buy a new Mag Safe 3 Adapter cable but if this works I will just use this and just get a braided USBC Cable for the replacement. Thank you again for the tip.

You can also use this Apple article to troubleshoot the Magsafe charging issue:

If your MagSafe cable or power adapter isn't working - Apple Support

You can also try a DFU firmware Revive to reset the security enclave chip & system firmware. Otherwise you are probably looking at a hardware repair. If USB-C charging works & doesn't interfere with you, then that can be a long term option unless the Logic Board issue becomes worse.

One of my organization's M-series laptops had the issue with a blinking orange/amber Magsafe LED, I have seen others mentioned on this forum about Magsafe3 charging issues. Ended up needing to have the Logic Board replaced.
