MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) work on a LG 49 in. Curved Ultragear DQHD 1ms 240HZ Monitor with vesa displayHDR

My macbook seems to not work on my new LG 49 inch curved Ultragear monitor. The recommended resolution is not even an option for my macbook. I tried downloading screen resolution display apps and it still won't work. Is my laptop just too old and won't be compatible?

Do I have no other choice besides buying a new macbook labtop?
