Automations/ Shortcuts work most the time, but then doesn’t

Hi,

I found this on the web, and wanted to give it a go. I created 2 automations and 2 shortcuts, that I use on 4 games. When I start a game, it turns wifi off. Then when I finish that game, it turns wifi back on, all automatically without confirmation. It stops a lot of ads, while playing the game.

It works really well for most of the time, however sometimes an ad starts running, you have a look, and the wifi is on, when it should be off. Trying to find out why this happens

only sometimes. Any answers / suggestions would be appreciated Thanks

Its my first time using any forums, hopefully I did it right.

It sounds like your automation is mostly reliable but occasionally misses triggering the Wi-Fi change. Here are some tips to improve consistency:

  1. Check Automation Triggers: Make sure each automation is set to run without asking for confirmation and that it's triggered specifically by App Opened or App Closed for the games. This can reduce delays or missed triggers.
  2. Add a Repeat Step: In your Shortcuts, try adding a Wait and Repeat step to check the Wi-Fi status a second time shortly after the first change. This can help the automation re-check the Wi-Fi status if it didn't update initially.
  3. Restart Device: If it still occasionally fails, restart your iPhone. Sometimes, background processes need a refresh for automations to stay consistent.

Let me know if this improves things!
