Alarm super loud! No settings are working

I have an alarm set and the volume and even the ringtone I picked to play are just ignored. It blasts super loud a different ringtone and is freaking me out every morning. I just deleted the alarm and i am just going to hope the sun will wake me up... also on a side note why cant i use my own ringtone for bedtime.
