I'm trying to reset an old phone and while it says restoring the iphone will turn off and then all of my progress will stop. I just want to be able to reset it. Im using a computer and its connected to it. Why wont the phone stay on so it can restore?
(its an iphone 12 that has the time and date wrong)

If it's turning off part way through, it may well be that the battery has failed, or at least has degraded to the point where it can't handle the load long enough to stay on. Or there may be another hardware issue. I'd suggest making an appointment at an Apple Store or authorized Apple service center and having the iPhone evaluated.

Its a brand new phone but never used was bought maybe 9 months ago. The battery is perfect on it and the last date it says was october 9th which wasnt that long ago.
