Text scam? I don’t know.

So I got this text massage a little while ago is it real or a fake scam?


[Apple Security Alert]




We have noticed that your Apple id was recently used at "APPLE STORE" for $143.95, paid by Apple Pay Pre Authorization. Also some suspicious sign in request and apple pay activation request detected. That looks like suspicious to us. In order to maintain the security and privacy of your account we have placed those request on hold.  If NOT you? Please Call +1 8xx-xxx-xx84 to talk to an Apple Representative. Failing may lead to auto debit and charge will not be reversed. Call +1 8xx-xxx-xx84 immediately to cancel this charge.

Hi Kizzy, this text message is obviously fake. There are so many reasons for it to be a scam. Probably the most obvious is that Apple would never just send out a text message like this. The company would need to invade a ton of privacy terms to be able to link your phone number to your Debit/Credit Card. Even if they did have access to that information, they would not just send you a text message like this. You can rest assured that this message is fake, so you are safe. Hope this helped!
