How do I disable voicemail transcription feature on my iPhone 13 mini?

I’ve just updated my iPhone (18.1). All my voicemails are now being transcribed. I’m sure this is a useful feature for some people but there needs to be a way to disable it.

I don’t want it on.

I don’t want my voicemail’s accessed in this way.

Even if I did want it, it’s completely inaccurate. It’s great to have new features but there needs to be the ability to disable them for customers who don’t want them.

When will there be a way to disable this feature?

agreed, depending on how you have your notification settings you could read a confidential voicemail that's been transcribed to your lock screen, i know because it happened to me and i've since changed / turned off related notifications...

as others have noted this is a fix that needs to be escalated to urgent!!

too bad apple doesn't read the product feedback messages... (or maybe they do and just don't care(?).., just sayin'...)

I agree as I am getting a bit fed with Apples “changes for changes sake” as they rarely tell you all that’s new when a new update comes out. You just suddenly find something has changed. This is a classic example, another was when I could easily find my way through my photos then it suddenly changed without any warning.

To disable transcription go to settings and iPhone, scroll down to Live Voicemail - if it’s on, toggle off
