Error "OneDrive cannot be deleted because it is open" in MacBook Pro

I cannot delete the OneDrive app from my computer. I have tried dragging the app to the trash can, and I receive the message "OneDrive cannot be deleted because it is open". I have then went into system preferences, users & groups, and then login items but OneDrive does show up there. Please provide a work around for removing this app.
