Why do my AirPods keep disconnecting from my iPhone and Apple Watch?

My AirPods pro frequently disconnect and reconnect, which causes any audio I’m listening to — whether it’s music, a podcast, or a call — to pause unexpectedly.

I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps, including resetting my AirPods Pro and restarting my iPhone, but the problem persists. After some observation, I noticed this disconnection and reconnection issue occurs whenever I move my wrist, and my Apple Watch screen wakes up.

To determine if the issues persist, you may consider disabling automatic switching.

For instructions on how to disable automatic switching, please refer to the following link:

Switch your AirPods to another device – Apple Support (UK)

If you prefer not for your AirPods to switch automatically, you can manually disable this feature on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV.

On iPhone or iPad:

With your AirPods in your ears and connected to your iPhone or iPad, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth. Alternatively, you can access Settings > [your AirPods].

Select the More Info button adjacent to your AirPods in the list of devices.

Tap Connect to This iPhone [or iPad].

Select When Last Connected to This [Device].

To re-enable this feature, tap Automatically.
