I'm running Big Sur 11.17.10 When I go to a web site that I use all the time and attempt to bring it to the dock a blue globe appears. It does open the site. The only options I have are to open it or remove it from the dock. Why is this happening and is there a way to edit the Icon?

Drag the URL to your desktop instead of directly to the Dock. Then to change the icon, see:
Change icons for files or folders on Mac - Apple Support
Once changed you can then add it to the Dock and the icon should be the new one.

Thanks, but when I drag the URL to my desktop it cannot be opened with Preview as the link above advises.
You're misreading the instructions. You don't open the saved URL in Preview. You open the image you wish to have as your icon in Preview.
