app store stuck in search mode on ipad air 10th gen.

I just bought this ipad yesterday and created a new Apple ID to use it. I will be using it to read music and I need to download some apps for this purpose. I tried to download Sync and the ipad said, "you haven't used the store with this ID yet" so I tapped continue and a box appeared that started searching.

That box is now permanently on my screen and the appstore is locked up and not useable.

What should I do now? Is there a way to reset or reboot the ipad?

Thanks for any help

Restart your iPad - Apple Support

More than one Apple Account is not recommended. You should use your original Apple ID on all of your Apple devices. I suggest abandoning the new one or deleting it.

If you choose to continue with the new Apple Account, it needs a payment method. You can add the payment method without going through the AppStore.

This Apple Account has not yet been used with the App Store -

On a Mac;

• Open the System Settings app (in the  menu)

• Chose your Apple Account

• Choose Payment & Shipping

• Add a payment method to your account details

On an iOS/iPadOS device;

• Open the Settings app

• Chose your Apple Account

• Choose Payment & Shipping

• Add a payment method to your account details

Alternatively -

On a Mac;

• Open the System Settings app (in the  menu)

• Choose your Apple Account

• Choose Media & Purchases

• Choose View Account

• Choose Manage Payments

• Add a payment method to your account details

On an iOS/iPadOS device;

• Open the Settings app

• Choose your Apple Account

• Choose Media & Purchases

• Choose View Account

• Choose Manage Payments

• Add a payment method to your account details

As it turns out I made a mistake.

After I try to download an app (I tried with both free and pay apps) I get a message that says, "This Apple Account has not yet been used in the iTunes Store". I have no idea why I need iTunes for downloading apps.

I have added a payment method (PayPal) that I know works.

I even went to the iTunes Store app/widget and linked my new Apple ID with it then tried purchasing a song and I got the same message.

Prior to creating this new Apple ID I had an old one that I hadn't used for about 3 years and when I tried to log in with it I was told it wasn't active. So, as a precaution, I went to privacy.apple.com to delete it and it would not accept my log in info (email and password) so I was not able to delete it (if it even exists any more).

My new ipad works fine except I just can't seem to download apps with it which makes it useless to me.

My wifi connection is good and the ipad shows a solid connection in 'settings'.

Any other suggestions?
