Using iphone 13.. After updating to 18.1, a thin black horizontal line appears in photos app when i open an image. It disappears but the line keeps on appearing inconsistently. This happens only in photos app alone. When exited everything works fine. This could not be captured in screenshot also.

Same. I made update from 17.7.2 to 18.2.1 with iPhone 13 Pro. I receive this grey line in fotos only when scrolling thru mediathek after I viewed a picture. The line disappears after 10 seconds. No line when I scroll in the app e.g. in albums or persons. Talked with apple support. They know about this issue and currently working on a software solution. I´m surprised that this problem was not detected during beta testing.
Same for me. I got an iPhone 12 Pro and i’ve noticed if you slightly touch the screen with 2 fingers at the same time and hold it for a few seconds it disappears for a while.
I’ve noticed the same in iOS 18.2 on my iPhone 13 Pro.
I’m glad it appears to be a software glitch rather a screen fault.
Went from iOS 17 to iOS 18.2, line is still there and only in photos app at random. Seems like this isn’t a screen issue but a glitch in the photos app after iOS 18.
i have the same issue and my phone is 14 plus. I went to a repair center and they told me to restore my OS using a macbook.
I just noticed it this morning on my iPhone 12.(iOS 18.1)The line disappears within 15 to 20 seconds. Only in the photo app, however if you’ve created an album and you go to the Album and check it out, it’s not there. I was freaking out thinking something was wrong with my phone. Glad to see that I’m not the only one.

I have the same problem as above. I'm currently on iPhone 13 Pro iOS 18.2.1 and the black horizontal line is in the photos app all the time. I have it the same way on iPhone 11 and iPhone xs. This is a software bug. Will it ever be fixed please?
Did you try to uninstall and reinstall the app Photos? Because now, starting from 18.2, is it possible. Maybe can be a solution. I did'n try it so far.
im currently on ios 18.3.1 and upon inspection the line wasn't there anymore
When i showed your feedback about this to apple service, they advised me to be patient and wait for the next upcoming update (18.1.1 or 18.2) maybe apple might come with bug fix. So for now i am just holding on to it. But this was reported by only a handful of us. But personally, I am being sceptic about apple hearing this as they are disgustingly busy in marketing their apple intelligence.
Hi, I have got the same bug and really hope that Apple will resolve this issue very soon with the next update! I have thought that it is a display issue but fortunately it is not.

Same thing happened with me, I connected with the customer care service they said if it’s not resolving then we need to visit the nearby service center. Also it’s not getting resolved after iOS 18.1.1 update
I have the same issue when i updated to 18.1, it comes up when I open my photo gallery then after a few seconds it disappears. Thought it was my LCD BUT it only happens when I open that app. -iphone 12 pro max
I believe this horizontal line issue started to surface after 18.1 update. It can be seen only in the photos app while scrolling on the pictures. It disappears as scrolling stops. Can the visit to the apple store help? The phone is just 1 month old.
Adding more fuel but saying the same thing as everyone else. iPhone 13 Pro running 18.1.1 Black line appears on the library of the photos app only and not on the photos if I click on one. Doesn’t show up anywhere else that I’ve noticed. It comes and goes. If I take a screenshot, there is no line which means the phone doesn’t even realize the line is displaying? Has anyone found a fix? Updating to 18.3.1 tonight
It's happening in my photo app in 18.1. Photos need to be in Aspect Ratio Grid view so you can see the black line against the white background. Hope Apple fix this soon. (Iphone 13 Pro Max)
