Mail not working after updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18

have you tried deleting any VPN profiles on your iPhone if you have VPN installed?

Oh yeah good point. Its late here so I too missed that he said outbox not sent mail when replying before.

The principal is the same for wherever you are. It just shows that in this latest iOS software update they’ve made some change when contacting IMAP servers. it’s this change that was conflicting with my ISP’s ‘broadband shield’ setting. Do you have the issue when the iPhone’s connected to cell data network with WiFi off?

Well it’s not so much a WiFi security issue but a security setting that the ISP has in place. So it’s also possible that your cell data network provider also has something conflicting with apples update. Also though something to check is your iCloud settings in your Apple account section in settings. Try turning off Private Relay here and see if that helps after a restart of the phone.

After updating my iPhone, I only receive some of my emails. I noticed I have to go in my VPN settings and force it off. That seems to allow my emails to come through. But I also don’t know what doing this exposes me to.

Using outlook for gmail and yahoo has been my only resolve for this issue. iOS mail still seems to work fine for my .me account.

Ahhh... disabling 'show contact photos' did it, TY x 1000

Try this , Settings> notifications> mail> customise notifications from there ensure that you choose all unread messages. You can arrange the accounts notifications, badges and sound individually

I’ve been having the same issue since I updated last night to iOS 18.1. I use Gmail and the email setup that comes on the iPad will no longer load content. What I ended up doing was installing the Gmail App on my iPad and that works fine.

Same thing happened to me. When I downloaded iOS 18.2, after a day or two my emails stopped downloading. Temporary solution – added Gmail to Microsoft Outlook account (I didn’t have one before, I opened one to do this). Once Gmail was added to the Outlook account, the emails downloaded on Outlook (not Gmail, still waiting for them to fix that)

I too am having this issue since updating to 18.2 and using the mail app. I do get some emails but they are normally delayed. I open mail, it connects, checking mail and stalls, or checking mail, downloading 1 and nothing downloads. My mac using the same email/isp continues to work fine. The only "manual" work-a-round I have found to get my email is to just turn wifi off and back on and go back into the mail app. The email connects and downloads the new emails. This isn't a permanent solution as some time later, I have to repeat this process. Hopefully this will get resolved soon.

I can’t find the original comment that helped me but there’s a big button top left that says primary. Click that so that you can “see all”. Then click the 3 dots in the upper right and select list view. This seems to have restored my view to how it was before 18.2.

Go to Settings-Notifications-Mail-Customise notifications-Badge Count = All Unread Message then select all the options you want for different mailboxes. Worked for me!
