Mail not working after updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18

Interestingly the turning off hide ip address setting fixed a similar issue I had with my ISP a good while ago on a different iOS version. It was that they gave me the idea to turn off my ISP shield software feature that it was conflicting with for this particular mail issue. Ironically for me i can actually use private address and limiting ip address tracking with iOS 18.2

If it was as easy as restarting the phone there wouldn’t be thousands of people on here worldwide complaining about this issue. You may have it working for a little bit, but it’ll stop working believe me . This is an Apple issue that they have to fix. there’s nothing that any of us can do that will make it work.

Mail won’t push (Yahoo/gmail), intermittent mail notifications, if I do get them, some have no sound, only partial or no new mail badges, and the only way to try to see my new mail, is to manually check. So yes, it is an Apple problem. This doesn’t happen with my iPhone 8 +, running iOS 16.something. This is a known bug with iOS 18.

I forgot to mention to go to settings, notifications, mail, customization and select all unread messages.

In any mail inbox: Tap ⋯⃝ in the upper right. Then tap List View. Do this for each account where you don’t want the Mail app to sort your mail into categories.

You can remove the icon that shows in front of each mail in the list.

settings > apps > mail > message list heading > show contact photos

turn that off^

Open the Mail app and tap on ⋯⃝. Change the setting to List View. That is about the only setting that could affect your issue.

Do what I did. Started using Gmail app. Starting to prefer it!

If you are using Gmail app and Outlook app then I might suggest you look on Google site to see if they might know is going on and for Outlook look on the Microsoft site. It could be a bug in the iOS that is causing this issue. If you want to have your thought relay to Apple, you can put your thoughts to them here

After buying the iPhone 16 Pro Max on the day it came out never get email notification sounds so this week I decided to download the Gmail app and now I get my notification sounds and alerts. I guess my AOL emails will have to wait until they fix the Mail app hopefully the 18.2 and the redesigned mail app Will do the trick although my confidence is lacking.

Yeah that’s the notification setting change not the ‘not downloading emails’ issue many users are having.

Did everyone see my previous message about my ISP safety software blocking my emails coming through being the cause for me? I disabled it and all my Gmail comes through fine now.

Here is something else that seems to work. If you have more than one email account, instead of clicking each individual account, click the All inboxes. This will show emails that don’t show up when you click on the individual account.

Well, you might consider the possibility that the issue is with your email provider, or the way you have set it up. But I am certain that Android phones absolutely never have any problems with anything. And none of the other users in this user-to-user forum care what you spend your money on.

If you are here just to rant, that’s fine. But if you would like help solving the problem provide some basic information, such as:

• Who the email provider is
• Whether you are using VPN (If you are, delete it completely, including the VPN profile, and it almost certainly will fix the problem)
• What the email provider’s instructions are for setting it up (a link would be fine)
• Whether your email provider is using 2 factor authentication on your account

Remove the present email address and re-enter it using the appropriate option
