Mail not working after updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18

No i don’t have to ask bc it’s affecting thousands of users . Apple is aware of it they just haven’t resolved it

Having contacted Apple, the response was to update to iOS 18.2. I note from another author on this thread that they have already done this and it made no difference. Nevertheless, I will try this and update on this thread once I've had a chance to review if this has helped.

Issues started for me just from 18.2 public release.

Mail app seems broken particularly for Gmail. Possibly other IMAP accounts.

I’m having to use my old iPad Air 3 still on iOS 17 to make sure I get all mail.

You have to ask whether it's unique to your device or perhaps even a relatively small proportion of users. If it was universal then there would be far more coverage of the issue.

I assume you haven't got category view activated - this is confusing many users as it won't show your emails chronologically - you might not see new emails arriving.

No it doesn’t work. As I’ve said many times nothing works because this is Apple error they need to fix . There are no steps to take-this is affecting thousands of users and the only one that can fix it is Apple

It will be years that Mail doesn’t work for you unless you fix the problem with your mail settings. My incoming gmail push just fine. I have the fetch every 15 minutes setting as well, and my incoming yahoo emails don’t fetch every 15 minutes either. So this is absolutely an Apple issue. Not to mention when I do get a new mail notification banner/banners, the red badge either does not appear, or is missing completely. If I do get a banner or badge notification, I do not get the corresponding tone or vibration (if my iPhone is in silent mode).

I have no idea why the mail app wasn’t working for you, but I have 2 gmail accounts that I read in the Apple Mail account with no problem, and my wife has one that has no problems. So it isn’t a Mail problem, it is a Mail problem specifically on your iPhone.

Yes - the big ones Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, etc. work but for all of those with the smaller ISP providers – they say that this is an Apple iOS 18 MAIL APP issue and they are not providing any fixes. They have all of my emails on their server and I have to use webmail. Please stop saying it is only “your phone” - do you not read hundreds of complaints about IMAP INBOUND email not working?

Same experience here. Had hopes for the 10 minutes it worked. My email provider is Network Solutions. So as I mentioned previously, I just toggle WiFi off and on and get my email to download. It only lasts about 10 minutes. No problem on my Mac with same email configuration and same network.

***Update***

not that this is a fix, but it was time for a new phone. I purchased a 16 and no longer have the issue. Outlook app and Gmail app are both pushing through new email notifications now. I did learn that when in low power mode, the apps will not push notifications

Apple is aware of problems for email app i spoke to a tech friday and they are working on a fix

I had the same issue when I updated to 18.2 - I restarted the phone and it worked. I have the 16+ Pro max!

What I have noticed is, when on charge emails are downloading no problem, although i get 'no sound' when the notification pops up.

Low power mode is off in battery settings.

actually that is not true. many people having mail app issue. the thread is long.

but i don't mind, using Gmail now. so no biggie. gmail may work better anyway.
