Mail not working after updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18

Ever since I have updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max to iOS 18, the Mail app will no longer retrieve emails unless I open the app and manually refresh the email messages. In addition, I no longer receive badge app icons or notifications for any emails. I have contacted Apple regarding this issue several times and was told that the update should fix the issue. However, after updating to 18.1, I am still having the same problem. I have reset notifications, restarted the phone, deleted both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts but nothing is working. I rely on my emails for both personal and business so this has become a huge issue over the past couple of months. Any suggestions to get this fixed would be greatly appreciated.

It is Dec 3rd & my iPhone email won't receive. Sends fine... but after upgrade, won't receive. So WHEN will patch be issued?

What “exactly the same issues?” This 7 page thread has people posting over a dozen DIFFERENT issues.

If you have any issue this thread is not the place to post it. Click on “ask the community” at the top of this page and start a new thread.

And while it may be completely unacceptable, it almost all cases the problem is not the result of something that Apple did or that Apple can fix.

You might also consult the user manual for Mail, so you can learn about the new features of mail that change the way messages are displayed (IF that is your problem)→Mail User Guide for Mac - Apple Support

Some new info:

Dec 18, no emails being received in any inbox no matter: turning WiFi off, pushing notifications, refreshing etc.
Can send emails
NEW: notices that can SEE the recently sent emails in "sent folder"

SOOOOO: this is INBOX issue.

Mine is still not working specially gmail and im on 18.2 still no fix and apple said they were working on a fix since September

Done that. Tried adding a / in the IMAP path too which I thought initially helped but then it was confirmed to not having fixed it.

Dec 16. Now on 3 weeks with NO email to phone. Again, sending works. I tried the WiFi solution. Switched to Cellular etc., Nothing. Nope. It's not a WiFi security issue...

Oh. That’s strange then. I have family sharing too and I can change the setting fine. You have icloud+ subscription i assume if you have family sharing? Here’s the section on my iphone which ironically is an iPhone 13 mini..

What I have noticed is, when on charge emails are downloading no problem, although i get 'no sound' when the notification pops up.

Low power mode is off in battery settings.

but i can send. and see the sent. it's the inbox that is problematic. ONLY incoming email.

You can remove the icon that shows in front of each mail in the list.

settings > apps > mail > message list heading > show contact photos

turn that off^

I tried that, and it worked for about 10 minutes; then my mail issues returned.

The only option that I have found that worked since Apple has not addressed the issue with their Mail app is to not use it all. I removed the Mail app from my phone and am using the Microsoft Outlook app instead. I added my work email address as well as my personal email addresses to the app and I get notified instantly when I get an email.
