Mail not working after updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18

Ever since I have updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max to iOS 18, the Mail app will no longer retrieve emails unless I open the app and manually refresh the email messages. In addition, I no longer receive badge app icons or notifications for any emails. I have contacted Apple regarding this issue several times and was told that the update should fix the issue. However, after updating to 18.1, I am still having the same problem. I have reset notifications, restarted the phone, deleted both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts but nothing is working. I rely on my emails for both personal and business so this has become a huge issue over the past couple of months. Any suggestions to get this fixed would be greatly appreciated.

Checked my wifi settings (tap the i of the network you are connected too ) and i turned off private wifi address and limit wifi tracking. voila emails now downloading over wifi.

Dec 26th. Mail still not working after the iOS 18 upgrade. Been over a month now. Can't get mail to iPhone. Can send only. Notifications even recognize a sent message. No incoming mail. Can only access via laptop. Have tried all recommendations on this board.

It will be years that Mail doesn’t work for you unless you fix the problem with your mail settings. As this thread has multiple, unrelated, mail issues it might be a good idea to start your own thread and describe your mail issue in detail, including which mail accounts aren’t working, what the symptoms are, and what you have tried so far to fix them.

My incoming gmail push just fine. I have the fetch every 15 minutes setting as well, and my incoming yahoo emails don’t fetch every 15 minutes either. So this is absolutely an Apple issue. Not to mention when I do get a new mail notification banner/banners, the red badge either does not appear, or is missing completely. If I do get a banner or badge notification, I do not get the corresponding tone or vibration (if my iPhone is in silent mode).

I have no idea why the mail app wasn’t working for you, but I have 2 gmail accounts that I read in the Apple Mail account with no problem, and my wife has one that has no problems. So it isn’t a Mail problem, it is a Mail problem specifically on your iPhone.

Yes - the big ones Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, etc. work but for all of those with the smaller ISP providers – they say that this is an Apple iOS 18 MAIL APP issue and they are not providing any fixes. They have all of my emails on their server and I have to use webmail. Please stop saying it is only “your phone” - do you not read hundreds of complaints about IMAP INBOUND email not working?

Thank you for the suggestion but that still did not solve the problem. There was an email that said it was sent to me at 1:50p EST but it wasn’t until I opened the Mail app and manually updated the inbox that I received it. And still no notification banner or tone once the email came through. All email accounts are set to Fetch since Push is not an option.
