Text messages disappeared after iOS 18.1

And this is considered a reasonable solution? Honestly I am very frustrated with this phone and the latest iOS update, which when i performed it, locked me in the wonderful boot loop. Thankfully I backed the phone up before i performed the "suggested" update, and then it bricked my phone into the iOS boot loop, and now after i factory reset the phone, and restored, my text messages are deleting themselves after they are sent. This is seriously UNACCEPTABLE for a phone i paid ~$1300 dollars for. Apple needs to FIX THIS, like NOW.

I had to do a factory reset about a month ago and now it just happened again after iOS 18.1.1! SO ANNOYED

This is happening to me, too. And it's super frustrating and devastating because it seems only the most important texts are gone. Has anyone found a solution, or are we all just SOL?

I’ve been dealing with this issue of texts disappearing entirely for weeks now, and it’s beyond infuriating. I’ve tried every so-called fix Apple suggests and reached out to support multiple times, yet the problem persists. I have completely wiped and factory reset my phone and it did not fix the issue. To make matters worse, Apple Support couldn’t offer me a solution—or even an estimated timeline for one. So I’m just supposed to sit here with a phone that doesn’t work as it’s supposed to and pretend that’s okay? For a brand that charges premium prices, Apple’s complete failure to resolve a basic functionality issue like this is absolutely unacceptable. I got the most recent update (18.3) hoping for a big fix that would help. No luck. Super disappointed and angry.
