Why won't my Apple TV load on my Roku TV?

Another user (mygreensocks) suggested this procedure from Roku Support staff, which reportedly helped several users.

1. Remove the Apple TV app,
2. Shut off and unplug the TV (or streaming device),
3. Wait 30 seconds,
4. Plug the TV (or streaming device) back in,
5. Reload the Apple TV app.

Else try the Network Connection Reset, as mentioned by user Jarieta.

If the issue persists after that, then please contact the Apple Support staff for further assistance.

I have the same problem and that fix does not help. I briefly see the apple logo then a spinner that never goes away.

• It worked on the Roku a few days ago and nothing has changed that I know of.
• Apple TV works on my mac on the same network.
• All other roku apps work perfectly.
• I have rock solid, 1000mbps fiber internet.

Ugh, they are going to walk me through a bunch of troubleshooting steps that I have already performed with the assumption that there is something wrong on my end. But it is overwhelmingly likely that there is a problem in their software. Remember:

• It worked on the Roku until a day or two ago and nothing has changed that I know of.
• Apple TV works on my mac on the same network.
• All other roku apps work perfectly.
• I have rock solid, 1000mbps fiber internet.

I pay for this service and would like it to just work without me having to go through a bunch of tedious troubleshooting steps (that i have likely already performed).

This morning i decided to bite the bullet and contact support.

But none of the options apply.

Surely it doesn't make sense for me to make a genius bar appointment? What would I do take my roku in?

And in order to chat or call, they want a device serial number. But the problem is not with any of my apple devices, it is with an apple service / software.

How would I even contact apple support in reference to their roku app not working?

I figured it out. But it is hard to make them understand I am talking about the apple tv app on roku. The whole system seems setup to handle apple hardware issues.
