iPhone 16 Pro Max camera malfunction

After the device is left turned on for a day or so; the camera will not work. Several ways have been tried to make the camera work from tapping on its icon to using the side button and Lock Screen icon to summon the camera with the same effect of the camera malfunctioning, not completely loading and kicking itself off the screen. It will not work properly unless the device is rebooted. This is annoying to say the least as I expect a perfectly operational device from Apple and up until now, have experienced that.
