IphoneX screen went black, the seller asks for ICloud ID to ditch my data and restore the phone

I bought an IphoneX in Russia in an online platform Ozon 2 weeks ago. Yesterday while I was watching a videomessage in Telegram, the device got very hot, a violet hot spot started spreading from the left bottom corner and the screen went black. I tried to switch it off, but the alarm sounded!

So I wrote to the seller about the problem and now they are asking for my ICloud ID to clean the phone of my account data. I have tried restoring the settings through Apple Devices and ITunes apps - they do not recognize the device.

I have followed the instructions to charge it for an hour and try again - it did not help. I have tried using different cords and slots to connect the device, I have tried to connect my old Iphone7 to the apps - it worked.

SO the seller refuses to accept the faulty device unless I give them the password to ICloud.

Which is illegal even in Russia)

The question - is there any other way to clean the IphoneX off my data and account if the screen is dead, and Itunes and Apple devices do not see it?

Thanks in advance

If your iPhone is on find my, you can log on on find my on the web and remotely erase your iPhone

  1. Go to icloud.com/find, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
  2. Tip: To sign in without entering a two-factor authentication code, click the icon   at the bottom of the window.
  3. Select the device below All Devices on the left.
  4. If you’ve already selected a device, you can click All Devices to return to the list and select a new device.
  5. Click Erase This Device.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  7. Tip: If you’re asked to enter a phone number or message, you may want to indicate that the device is lost or how to contact you. The number and message appear on the device’s Lock Screen.

If your device is online, the remote erase begins after you follow the onscreen instructions. If your device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online.
