Face ID stopped working after update to iOS 18.1 on iPad pro M4 13 2024

I have to type my passcode every time - the Face ID cam log in won’t work.

I have updated, hard booted, disabled Screen Time content and privacy restrictions, read the Policy under Face ID, everytime locking and checking to no avail. Finally, I have reset the Face ID, and even with my face “in the box”, it won’t even start configuration of a new Face ID. But my face is nicely there within the square box that won’t become round to start scanning.

No problem on our iPhones. No problem on our iPad Pro 12.9” 4th gen.

So… please HELP ?

Seeing the troubleshooting steps you already performed to no avail, if you're sure that nothing (case/cover, screen protector, dirt) interferes with your front camera (remove any obstacles, if present), see this support article:--> If Face ID isn't working on your iPhone or iPad Pro and/or this one:--> If an alert says Face ID has been disabled on your iPhone or iPad Pro

If the issue persists, after performing all the steps provided in the above support articles, contact Apple Support directly, using this specific link:--> https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=kbase&SG=SG003&category_id=SC0999&symptom_id=23303 , or, since your iPad is covered by warranty, make an appointment and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> https://locate.apple.com/choose-country-region. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.
