Magic Mouse issues with macOS Sequoia 15.1.

I have recently upgraded from my old 2016 macBook Pro bought a new 2024 macBook Air M3 16GB 15 inch and after the latest upgrade I seem to be having issues with my magic mouse as it has started having a lagging issue and inconsistent movement issues. I decided to get a new magic mouse, thinking that this may solve the issues. It has not seemed to stop it or fix it.

The issue is that it seems to lag at times and disconnect every now and again. I can't believe it is due to hardware as the laptop and mouse are both new. Can anyone shine a light on what I can do to solve this. My touchpad on the macBook Air works fine. I know it is not interference as I have the same issue working in many different places.

I to am having the same problem with my Mac ever since the latest update to Sequoia 15.1. I tried two different magic mouses and both lagged and was not accurate when clicking on anything. It is getting very frustrating. I am thinking that it is a software issue and not a hardware issue since my other Macbook that has not been updated to 15.1 yet is not having these issues.

Other bluebooth devices are not having a problem, such as my keyboard, or headphones.

Any options for a fix beyond waiting for the next software update?

The exact same problem with a laggy Magic Mouse (Lightning) is occurring on two Macs (M1 and M2) after an update (and with two different mice). The strange thing is that sometimes there’s a long period, like 1–2 days, when everything works perfectly, and then it suddenly breaks again. When the problem appears, the same issue starts happening with the Logitech MX mouse. However, when the Magic Mouse is turned off, the problem immediately disappears. It seems like the Magic Mouse DoS Bluetooth on the Mac.

Changing the advanced mouse settings seemed promising, but sadly didn't improve things for me.

I am experiencing lag specifically when using the two finger swipe gesture to move between desktops in mission control after updating my OS to 15.1.1 a couple days ago. Same M2 Mac studio and magic mouse I've been using for a couple years, with no prior issues, and nothing else in the environment changing.

If I switch between the desktops with a keyboard shortcut instead, it's just as smooth and quick as it ever was. The lag with the mouse gesture is always there now, but seems to be worse sometimes more than others.

So far I haven't noticed any other issues w/ the mouse behavior but I've only been on for a few hours since the update.

I'm running Sequoia 15.2

My magic mouse and my trackpad behave erratically after unlocking the machine. The cursor lurches across the screen instead of moving smoothly.

The only fix that works for me is rebooting the machine.

I suspect this to be one of those problems that will never be acknowledged, but will simply disappear after the next patch is released.

If I go to Settings:Mouse: Point & click: Advanced and turn on Pointer Acceleration all the issues with problems opening folders and selecting folder and file names or letters in words stop happening and the Mac works normally, but tracking is awfully slow.

It's clear that this is a software bug in the latest version of the Mac system software that makes the Mac awful to operate. I have decided to leave Pointer Acceleration on until this fault is rectified because its frustrating otherwise.
