Apple ACCOUNT vs Apple Cash

I tried transferring $500 from my bank to Apple Cash. Something glitched and I had to turn off and on my phone to get it unfreeze. I tried again and saw it went through and sent it onto my son. THEN I got my bank statement and it showed two $500 withdrawals to Apple. I went back to Apple Cash, and it wasn’t there. I went in and out of my Apple account several times and all of a sudden I noticed at the top it said Apple ACCOUNT $500. I’ve never seen that before. So I tried to put it back into my bank and did some reading on it and apparently there’s no way to put it back into my bank.

So that was last week, and I was going to take a day this week to call Apple and find out how I can get that reversed and put back into my bank. When I open to do so, now there’s only $46 in there. I hunted and hunted and finally found where I could see my transactions for my Apple account, and there is no $444 deduction for anything. I looked in my bank and there’s no deposit there. I looked at my credit card to see if it got credited to that no credit. What the heck is going on?

Does anyone have an idea before I call Apple and try to get this thing figured out? I’m thoroughly confused on the difference between an Apple account and Apple Cash. There’s very little about it and it seems very mysterious and confusing to me and now my money is gone.

Note: I do have a family sharing plan and no one on the family sharing has spent any money of that amount, and we have the family sharing off for sharing funds. So it can’t be that. What the heck?
