Can I use Mac Virtual Display without turning off my secondary physical monitor

Apple's support document (see below) seems to say that Mac Virtual Display (MVD) only mirrors your "main" display, but it doesn't say what happens to your secondary display. The main display turns off when it goes virtual, so does that mean the secondary display stays on? I would think that makes sense, but one Vision Pro user on Youtube said that when in MVD mode, all attached physical displays are turned off and are mirrored as separate desktop Spaces in the MVD.

I would like to buy a Vision Pro so that I can use MVD, but I need this question answered first because I use a secondary monitor with my MacBook--a portable Cintiq drawing monitor--and if it turns off when I use MVD, then I won't be able to draw. I've asked multiple Apple store workers and no one seems to know. Some people have given me guesses, but I'd really appreciate a definitive answer before I go out and drop the money. Thanks in advance!

"If your Mac has multiple displays connected to it, Mac Virtual Display shows only the one that you've set as the main display."
