Can’t accept new iCloud Terms and Conditions

Referring to thread 254969127 (closed), which is the same issue on my wife's iPhone 7 (iOS 15.8.3).

The solution on the named thread was to sign out (of?) the children's account. I assume this would work for us, as well. However, how do you actually do this signing out? Please provide a simple step-by-step instruction.

Thank you!

Fix New iCloud Terms and Conditions keeps popping up on iPhone or iPad:

Go to Settings and tap your name.

Scroll down to the bottom and click "Sign Out."

Turn on the data that you want to keep a copy of on your device.

Click "Sign Out."

Tap "Sign Out" again.

Sign back in.

If you have set a ScreenTime Passcode, this must be removed before you will be able to sign-out from your AppleID account:

Settings > ScreenTime > Change ScreenTime Passcode > Turn Off ScreenTime Passcode

This did not work for my iPhone 7, also 15.8.3. I don't have ScreenTime Passcode turned on, and I did sign out and back in. When I open New iCloud Terms and Conditions/Continue, the icon spins for a few seconds, and then disappears and the phone freezes solid. Shutting it off and restarting restores the phone's other functions, and I still have access to my phone files on iCloud via Files, but the notice on Settings for New Terms and Conditions remains. I don't have access to the files on iCloud from my MacBook Air. Any other help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance.

Al, thanks so much for your prompt response, especially over a holiday! I hope you found it warm and happy.

This is weird. I own three Apple devices: an iPad Pro, a MacBook Air, and the iPhone 7. If I log into iCloud from either the iPad or the MacBook, I'm given immediate access to my data for that device, with no prompt to accept new terms. Digging through My Account, I find no settings in either device that refer to updating new terms. It is only the iPhone that has this prompt, and while it does let me access iCloud from the phone Files app, it gives me access only to files from the iPhone on iCloud. So I can't transfer files between devices, and Air Drop is problematic on my systems. Is there some flag set somewhere on the iPhone software that sets up this notification? Thanks again for your help.
